My intentions were to find A offshore job. However all my prior experience is way out of date, the tough ecconomic times has made it difficult to hire you for resume assistance. Untill I can build the funds to aquire all the proper credentials (MMD-card,Zcard,Port security.ect.) all of these require money and time both are hard to come by being I live payday to payday. I do enjoy visiting the site and reading Righand.

                                              Thank you for all

Hey there James, no matter what your financial state is, you can still create yourself a new resume. If you think your resume is currently not up to par, then open up Word and start editing. There are 2 great examples of resumes at Offshoreguides.com. Just follow these links:

http://www.offshoreguides.com/employees/resume_1313.asp
http://www.offshoreguides.com/employees/resume_2332.asp

Don't mind the top of these pages, but look at the part (cover letter and resume) on the yellow background. See how far you can go with those examples and re-create that in word, print it, send it out to apply to jobs, and finally... get that job you desire.

Good luck on getting the proper credentials, and don't forget to add those to you resume once you have them Wink

Hi mosesmccown, if you already know where to attend further education then I'm sure you will receive more information there on how to get started.

Just let me tell you one thing; If you are currently living paycheck to paycheck, then don't think this line of work will save your skin. Please don't get this the wrong way, but it might take some time to get hired, for some it took months. Some times it might even look like winning the lottery when you first get your foot between the door.

Just keep up those high hopes, but make sure you are able to keep paying your bills until you're hired offshore.

I have tried the resume service but I think because of my age, I have not received any calls.
I love the site and hopefully there is a company out there that wouldn't mind hiring a old, short, chunky bald dude.
Love the site !

So as I see it now, You mostly are looking for job postings and assistance to get your foot between the door, any door, to get into the offshore industry with a job that fits you.

@ Greg Green: 7 years? 7 years and nothing at all? How old are you Greg?

@ Rob Ferreira: We can steer you in the right direction, there are a lot of maritime jobs available these days. If you have direct access at offshoreguides.com, you should check it out. Entry level to experienced are available. Even entry level jobs on cruise ships

@ Michal: What's your experience?

@ Kup: In January there have been a lot of job postings for entry level and internships, have you applied to them yet? Is your resume up to par?

Thank you all for your votes and responses.

Andrew.
